Safeguarding our clients’ and students’ personal information is one of our utmost priorities.

What Information We Collect

The information we collect is limited to the mandatory fields on the Student Enrollment Contract. This data is collected under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (PIPA) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). These details are necessary to process each student’s application effectively.

Why We Record Personal Information

• Verifying identity: By collecting personal information, we ensure the accuracy and authenticity of our clients and students.

• Delivering products and services: The collected information helps us provide the requested products and services efficiently.
• Issuing certificates: Following successful course completion, we issue certificates to students.
• Enrolling students: Personal information is necessary to enroll students in their chosen courses.
• Course-related communication: We may contact our clients and students regarding course information to ensure smooth communication.
• Maintaining service standards: Personal information helps us maintain a high standard of service for our clients and students.
• Recertification reminders: We use collected information to remind students about the need for recertification.
• The information collected from a WorkSafeBC course is archived for the sole purpose of advising you when to take a recertification course before your certificate expires. As part of our agreement with WorkSafeBC, we are subject to audits to assess compliance. We may be asked to reveal limited information in a non-identifiable form for statistical purposes. In the case of a Red Cross course, the only information we collect is from our Student Enrollment Contract.
• Upon successful course completion, the relevant information of course participants is uploaded onto the Canadian Red Cross Society’s course manager software. This is not only for statistical purposes, but is also used by Red Cross to provide insurance protection and certificate tracking for course graduates.

Usage of Collected Information

For WorkSafeBC courses, the information collected is archived solely for the purpose of notifying you when it is time to take a recertification course before your certificate expires. As part of our agreement with WorkSafeBC, we are subject to audits to assess compliance. These audits may require us to disclose limited non-identifiable information for statistical purposes.

In the case of Red Cross courses, we only collect information through our Student Enrollment Contract. Upon successful course completion, relevant participant details are uploaded to the Canadian Red Cross Society’s course manager software. This information serves statistical purposes, and Red Cross utilizes it to provide insurance protection and track certificates for course graduates.

When Information Is Destroyed

Records containing personal student information are securely destroyed after a period of 4 years. As for the credit card information provided with the Student Enrollment Contract, it is promptly destroyed upon payment of the course fees.

Your Right To View Your Personal Information

During our regular office hours, you have the right to view any personal information that we may have collected from you, as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others.
