This comprehensive program will equip you with the fundamental knowledge and practical experience needed to become a certified First Aid Instructor through the renowned Red Cross. Program Curriculum

Step 1 – Skills Evaluation:

The first step in your journey as a First Aid Instructor involves a skills evaluation. During this evaluation, your first aid skills will be assessed to ensure proficiency. Additionally, you will need to provide proof of meeting the following prerequisites:

  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Valid participant certificate in First Aid for the discipline you wish to teach

Upon successful completion of the skills evaluation, you will receive your additional course materials, and you will have 60 days to proceed to Step 2.

Step 2 – Fundamentals of Instruction:

Step 2 focuses on developing your teaching foundation. It consists of an online component where you will learn the fundamentals of instruction and a classroom component where you will apply these principles under the guidance of a Red Cross Instructor Trainer.

Fundamentals of Instruction Online Component:

  • Approx. 8 Hours

Fundamentals of Instruction Classroom Component:

  • 16 Hours (Including Breaks)
  • 2 Days (9 am to 5 pm)

Upon completing Step 2, you will have 180 days to progress to Step 3.

Step 3 – Discipline-Specific Classroom Component:

Once you have decided on the specific First Aid program you would like to teach, you must attend the corresponding discipline-specific classroom component. This component is tailored to focus on the specific skills and knowledge required for teaching that particular program.

Discipline-Specific Classroom Component:

  • 16 Hours (Including Breaks)
  • 2 Days (9 am to 5 pm)

Upon successful completion of Step 3, you will have 364 days to move on to Step 4.

Step 4 – Teaching Experience:

Step 4 provides you with invaluable teaching experience. It comprises both an online and a classroom component. The online component offers guidance on what to expect during your Teaching Experience, while the classroom component provides hands-on experience in teaching a real classroom setting, with the support of a Teaching Experience Supervisor.

Teaching Experience Online Component:

  • 30 to 45 minutes

Teaching Experience Classroom Component:

  • Duration varies by candidate (Maximum of 3 attempts)

Upon completing Step 4, you will be required to submit your paperwork to your Instructor Trainer for review and further guidance.

Step 5 – Certification:

Congratulations! You have reached the final step of the First Aid Instructor Training program. At this stage, you will be officially certified as a First Aid Instructor by the Red Cross. This certification not only validates your expertise but also recognizes your commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of others.
